This much anticipated event is an ode to some of Texas’s most delectable restaurants, from the Seawall to The Strand. The event features dozens of Galveston’s best restaurants and cafes offering special menus at prix fixe prices.

Depending on the restaurant, lunches will be priced between $10 to $30, brunch will cost $10 to $40, and two or three-course dinners will be between $20 to $60.

Participating Restaurants

There are so many incredible eateries you can try out during Galveston Restaurant Week. It’s best to check the listing of participating restaurants in advance so that you can plan what you want to try while visiting the island.

Different Galveston restaurants join in the event each January, but you can always expect to find a sampling of all the  best local island cuisine.

Yaga’s Cafe is a featured partner this year, with island vibes in the Strand Historic District. The Jamaican-style restaurant will serve up dishes like shrimp salad, crab cakes, and flatbread pizza.

In the mood for a fresh catch? Look for dishes like Gulf oysters, redfish, and Texas blue crab cakes on the menu at seafood restaurants. Tex-Mex is also a must, and local Galveston restaurants offer tasty dishes like citrusy ceviche, sizzling fajitas, and handmade tamales. Regional Gulf Coast and southern bites like Cajun boudin, gumbo, and shrimp and grits are also Galveston specialties.

For fresh Gulf catches, you’ll want to check out the Galveston Restaurant Week menus at BLVD Seafood, Shearn’s Seafood and Prime Steaks, and Shuck’s Tavern and Oyster Bar. In the mood for Tex-Mex? Participating restaurants include The Original Mexican Cafe and Vida Agave.
