The market features Texas farmers and vendors. You’ll typically find produce stands, fresh eggs and meat, bakery items, flavorful dips and salsas, juices, and ready-to-eat tamales. Seven Seas Grocery and Market

If you’re looking for a place to grab groceries on the West End of Galveston, Seven Seas Grocery and Market is a small and convenient store close to Jamaica Beach.

While it’s not as large as places like Kroger and Walmart, it has everything you need to cook up a meal at your Galveston beach house, from a fresh produce section and meat cuts case to aisles of pantry goods. There’s even a section of seasonal items, souvenirs, and small gifts.


Arlan’s Market

If you’re looking for somewhere different and local to grocery shop in Galveston, the family-owned Arlan’s Market is worth checking out. The small chain has just a few Texas locations scattered mostly around Houston and San Antonio. The Galveston location is on the island's east side, making it a convenient stop when you’re hanging out at Stewart Beach or East Beach.

The store is open daily and has everything you need, from wine and beer to beach snacks to ingredients to cook dinner at your Galveston vacation home.


Maceo Spice & Import Company

While the selection at  Maceo Spice & Import Company may not be as large as the other grocery stores on this list, the specialty shop in Downtown Galveston is worth checking out when you’re in the area.

The store is known for its global varieties of quality olive oils, sauces, meats, cheeses, pastas, olives, and, of course, spices. On top of that, an onsite cafe serves sandwiches and subs, salads, cannoli, and a special Sunday brunch menu. You can dine “in” on the patio full of picnic tables with a backdrop of the store’s colorful wall mural.


Kroger

Kroger is one of the largest and most convenient grocery stores in Galveston to pick up supplies or grab a quick bite to eat on the beach. Located on Seawall Boulevard across from the Gulf, it’s just a block from the 61st Street Fishing Pier and close to popular spots like Babe’s Beach and Fort Crockett Park.

The store is a national chain, and this location offers a deli, bakery, floral department, Starbucks, pharmacy, and everything else you might need to cook dinner at your Galveston vacation rental or craft a picnic to eat on the sand.


Walmart Supercenter

The Walmart Supercenter on the island is ideal for stocking up on groceries and supplies to take back to your vacation rental in Galveston. It’s situated on the Seawall between Babe’s Beach and the 61st Street Fishing Pier, so it’s convenient to pop in here during a  beach day to grab extra sunscreen or snacks.

Randalls

  • Address: 2931 Central City Blvd, Galveston, TX
  • Hours: 6 a.m. – 11 p.m. daily

The store chain grocer is about a half mile from the coastline on one of the island’s main roads, so it’s easy and convenient to reach when you’re spending the day at the beach or when you’re driving in from the mainland on the way to your Galveston vacation rental.

Target Grocery

The Target in Galveston is one of the first stores you’ll encounter when you cross over the causeway onto the island. This makes a super convenient stop to stock up food to take back to your Galveston beach house or grab sunscreen, beach toys, and other supplies you may need for your vacation.

This Target location has groceries and a pharmacy, and it offers order pick-up and delivery.
